Liverpool midfielder Jordan Williams has joined Rochdale on loan until January.

The Liverpool U23s midfielder, who made a senior debut for the club in September 2014, will spend the first half of the season with the League One side after agreeing the move on transfer deadline day.

Williams will hope to feature when Rochdale continue their campaign with a journey to Southend United on Saturday.

He told iFollow: “I'm really excited that I've got the loan deal over the line and I'm looking forward to getting going.

“I played with Joe Rafferty a few times when he was at the Liverpool Academy and I've spoken to him about coming to Rochdale. Joe loves it here and he's told me that it's a great club to play for and that the lads are brilliant.

“I played for Swindon on loan a couple of years ago and I just want to get back out and play league football again, because you learn a lot more than playing for the under-23s."
