Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson was happy to roar on former club Sunderland last week in the Capital One Cup final.
Henderson made the Wembley date for Sunderland's defeat to Manchester City.
He told the Daily Mail: "A lot of my friends and family were going and I had a ticket too. I had to report for England the next day so I thought I'd go and support the team I'd grown up watching, who hadn't been to a cup final since '92, when I was two years old.
"I wanted to show my support. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for Sunderland Football Club."
