Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott says Neymar and Steven Gerrard were his heroes as a junior player.
Writing for the Liverpool Echo, Elliott stated: "When I was a little younger, Neymar was my inspiration. He was breaking on to the scene at Barcelona and I remember saying to my dad 'this kid's going to be one of the best players in the world one day'.
"The way Neymar moves and his dribbling ability, I try to add that into my game. But if I was looking up to someone, it would have to be Steven Gerrard. He is a Liverpool legend.
"It has been an indescribable season, but on a personal level winning my first Merseyside derby in the FA Cup is probably my individual highlight so far at Liverpool. I didn't think I'd had the best of games. I thought I'd done okay, but I received some praise afterwards and it did give me more confidence to keep on being myself and show people who I really am."
