Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones struck a hat-trick for the U23s yesterday.
Jones' treble helped Liverpool U23s beat Sunderland 6-0 at the Academy on Monday afternoon to qualify for the knockout stages of the Premier League Cup.
Jones netted three times within the space of eight minutes late on in the affair as the young Reds secured victory in their final match of the group phase.
Liam Millar opened the scoring early on in Kirkby before then.
And a second-half brace from Joe Hardy, signed in January from Brentford rounded out the scoring.
