Joe Allen is champing at the bit as Liverpool prepare for the Europa League final later this month.

The Anfield club will meet Spanish side Sevilla in the decider of Europe's second tier club competition in Basel on May 18 and midfielder Allen admits it is a brilliant chance for the Reds to achieve what they have set out to since his arrival on Merseyside.

"When I had the chance to join this club, the ambition was to win silverware," said Allen who joined Liverpool from Swansea City in 2012.

"I've come close so far. Now there's another opportunity to lift a trophy, and it's an opportunity I can't wait for.

"Everyone connected with the club will give absolutely everything to try to ensure we bring that trophy home."
