Liverpool are making a deadline day move for Schalke defender Ozan Kabak.
The Daily Mail says Liverpool have revived interest in a deal for Kabak and are close to finalising a loan move for the centre-back with the option to buy.
Kabak saw a move to Newcastle collapse this weekend and Liverpool have enquired about the option to take him on loan for £1.5million with a view to making the deal permanent for around £16m in the summer.
He is set to undergo a medical in Germany and if all goes well, will fly to Merseyside on Tuesday.
Kabak has a release clause of £35m but due to the financial pressures and threat of relegation for Schalke, Liverpool are optimistic about negotiating for considerably less.
Talks are ongoing with cash-strapped Schalke willing to strike a deal now.
