Liverpool are ready to hand veteran goalkeeper Andy Lonergan a one-year contract.
The Liverpool Echo says an untimely calf injury suffered by Alisson on the opening day of the season has seen Liverpool turn to Lonergan.
While it is currently unclear just how long Liverpool will be without the Brazilian, he is certain to miss the European Super Cup final and is set for a spell on the sidelines.
New signing Adrian will start against Chelsea in Istanbul, and Lonergan is set to be part of the Reds' travelling squad too with the club now offering him a one-year contract.
He was still with Liverpool training up until last week.
