Liverpool have lost Iago Aspas until December.

Aspas has been ruled out for six weeks after suffering a torn thigh muscle in training but manager Brendan Rodgers still believes his squad are in their best shape of the season heading into Saturday's game with Newcastle.

The Spaniard picked up the injury at the club's Melwood training ground on Thursday and was quickly diagnosed by medical staff, who estimate he will be fit to return at the start of December.
