Liverpool are showing real interest in Borussia Monchengladbach's Denis Zakaria.

The 25-year-old is someone that manager Jurgen Klopp has admired for a few years.

According to Calciomercato, the Reds will battle with the likes of Juventus, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich to try and secure the all-action defensive midfielder.

Gladbach must sell players before they can make any new signings, which means prized assets such as Zakaria may be on the market.

The Swiss international is out of contract in the summer, and Gladbach would prefer to get some money in for him during the January transfer window.
