Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi was delighted after scoring his first goal for Mainz.

The Nigerian forward arrived at Mainz last summer but had failed to make his breakthrough.

That was until Sunday's 2-2 draw with FC Koln.

After Mainz went behind by two goals, the 22-year-old got his side back in the game with a sublime short-range strike from a Bote Baku cross.

"I'm really happy about scoring my first goal for Mainz! We came back very well as a team today and fought our way back into the match!" Awoniyi told the media.
