Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has been offered the MK Dons job.

The Daily Star says the League One club have held productive talks with the Liverpool legend about their vacant managerial role.

Gerrard is understood to be mulling over the offer and will make a decision early next week.

The 37-year-old announced this week he would not be renewing his contract at LA Galaxy after 18 months with the MLS club.

The former England and Liverpool skipper initially insisted he wanted to spend more time with his family.

But those plans could quickly be scrapped if he agrees to take charge at Stadium:MK - although he could agree a player-manager role.
