Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson says management deserve praise for changing goalkeepers this summer.
Lawrenson says executives told Jurgen Klopp to buy whatever goalkeeper he wanted following Loris Karius' horror show in the 2018 Champions League final.
Eventually the decision was taken to loan Karius to Besiktas after Brazil international Alisson was snapped up from Roma.
"The best thing about that in many ways is that the owners were there," Lawrenson told the Daily Star.
“I'm not sure they were going to buy another goalkeeper - even though everyone knew they needed one.
“But that night whoever signs the cheques must have realised they needed to sign another one.
“In many ways Karius' downfall was probably one of the best things that came out of the night because they just went: 'lets go and get whoever we want'."
