Liverpool legend Alan Hansen has told Chelsea striker Danny Sturridge to forget about next year's Euros.

Hansen doesn't believe the newly-called up 22 year-old will make the final cut.

He told the Telegraph: "Despite his qualities, Daniel Sturridge is a million miles away from being ready to take a place in the euro 2012 squad.

"He is a long way from being the finished article and, when all settles down at Chelsea, I cannot see him being more than a substitute at Stamford Bridge this season.

"The big thing in his favour is that he has pace in abundance and that scares defenders."
