Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish says the players should be nervous going into the season run-in.
Manchester City are two points behind Liverpool, albeit with an extra game to play, but are the bookmakers' favourite to win the league after doing so with an unprecedented 100 points last season.
Dalglish said to Liverpool's official website: “It's about how you feel within yourself, that's the most important thing.
“What goes on inside the football club is more important than the external stuff.
“I would say that most games that you go to play, you're going to be nervous.
“We were nervous before every game and if you're not nervous, I think you've got a problem.
“If you've got your nerves and a wee bit of anticipation, then you're looking forward to the game and I don't see anything wrong with that.
“So, nervous? Why? If you make a bad pass, does that mean you're nervous? I don't think so; you've made a bad pass because you've made a bad pass!
You can interpret it any way you want, the only thing it doesn't change is that it might have been a bad pass. So just carry on what we've done before."
