Liverpool legend Carragher: Man City's Aguero has stepped up game

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher feels Sergio Aguero has stepped up his game at Manchester City this season.

Carra wrote in the Daily Mail: "He has taken his game to a different level this season and his performance against CSKA Moscow in the Champions League this week was mesmerising; the little Argentine, like Suarez, deserves to be bracketed in the top six in the world at this moment.

"I'll never forget the last time I faced Aguero. It was in February this year, four days before I announced I was going to retire. I was clear in my mind what I was going to do but part of me was terrified that if Aguero ran amok, people would think he pushed me into retirement.

"Thankfully, I didn't do badly against him. We kept him quiet for most of the game but he still ended up scoring an unbelievable goal, curling a shot in from the byline after he seized upon a mistake by Pepe Reina. It was an angle from which he had no right to hit the target, never mind score."
