The ex-striker won the league title in 1988 and says it was down to how Kenny Dalglish's side kept their cool when the pressure was on.
“We were under pressure to win every game when I was playing," he said.
“That season 1987-88, we believed in ourselves - we knew how good we were.
“We felt we could win every game. We took it in our stride. The camp was at ease.
“Every team goes through a blip.
“The team now has to believe in itself and have the belief that it can go out and win every game."
