Liverpool are preparing a bid for Crewe Alexandre striker Max Clayton.
The Daily Mail says England youth forward Clayton drew a crowd of scouts from the top of the Barclays Premier League during the FA Youth Cup tie at Huddersfield on Wednesday.
Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City were among those present while Tottenham have already declared an interest.
Director of football Dario Gradi has been fiercely protective of Clayton and believes his interests are best served gaining experience at Crewe.
Clayton, however, scored in Crewe's 2-1 win over Morecambe last Saturday and that is increasing interest.
