Liverpool are maintaining a watching brief on Mason Mount's contract talks at Chelsea.
The Guardian says Lverpool were alerted to Mount's delicate situation last week after news that the midfielder and his club had hit a bump in their contract discussions.
The midfielder's current deal ends in 2024, with the Reds and Juventus both encouraged to explore whether they could lure him away from his boyhood club.
Those issues in the negotiations are thought to be down to Mount's wage demands, with the 23-year-old wanting his salary to reflect that of his status in the squad and match the club's top earners.
But Graham Potter's side remain confident that their star has no intention of securing a move away from Stamford Bridge, with talks over a new long-term deal set to recommence after the World Cup.
