Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina is a big fan of Chelsea and Manchester City target Manuel Pellegrini.

The Malaga coach worked with Reina at Villarreal.

Reina was adamant his old manager would have been perfect to succeed Rafa Benitez at Anfield.

"It wasn't just because I knew him," Reina wrote in his autobiography. "It was more about the style of football that he plays, getting teams to attack all the time.

"He would never just sit deep and accept being put under pressure by opponents. Pellegrini has an attacking mentality."
