Young Liverpool goalkeeper Dean Bouzanis knows he has plenty of time ahead of him to play senior international football.
The 18-year old has recently been in Australia, training at the AIS (Australian Institute of Sport) under the watchful eye of national U20 coach Jan Versleijen and hopes he can become a part of the senior national team in the not too distant future.
"Australian football's excelled in the last few years and I hope to be part of it as soon as I can," Bouzanis said.
"Obviously this campaign [2010] might be a bit too soon for me but if I keep doing well in another two years... To be part of that squad [Olyroos 2012] would be a great thing."
There has been talk that Bouzanis, who represented the Greek U19 team last year, would be loaned out from Liverpool to gain first team experience elsewhere, but he is happy to remain at Anfield.
"I'm happy that [Liverpool manager Rafael] Benitez wants me to stay," he added. "If I keep doing well, you never know what could happen; hopefully I'll get a break."
