The Mirror says armed with the cash from the £142million sale of Philippe Coutinho, Liverpool have no worries about meeting the £35m the Gunners want for Chilean Sanchez.

And with the club's US owners – the Fenway Sports Group – desperate to end a 28-year wait for the League title Liverpool know the only way to make themselves genuine title contenders is to spend big.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp knows he can never usurp Manchester giants City and United or even Chelsea and land the Premier League title Anfield covets if Liverpool don't splash big money.

And that's why discussions are ongoing between FSG and Klopp to find a way to bid for Sanchez.
