Liverpool are investigating an incident that occurred involving Wolves defender Jonny and a ball boy at Anfield.

The Reds claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Wolves in the Premier League to solidify their grip on the title.

But the game was marred by an incident where Jonny is said to have come into contact with a ballboy while trying to collect the ball.

Wolves know about the incident, but are not going to comment until they receive more information from Liverpool.

"The club is aware of the incident and will follow established protocols in terms of gathering the relevant information," Liverpool said in a statement to the Press Association.

"While that process takes place we will be making no further comment."
