Liverpool identifies AC Milan keeper Diego Lopez as potential target

Diego Lopez has emerged as a surprise target for Liverpool.

According to Spanish publication Fichajes, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to add more competition for number one Simon Mignolet and is looking in the direction of the AC Milan gloveman.

34-year-old Lopez, who joined the Rossoneri from Real Madrid in the summer of 2014, has only been used by Sinisa Mihajlovic in eight Serie A matches so far this season with the veteran losing his place to 16-year-old Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Although Klopp has stated he is happy with Mignolet as his number one and Adam Bogdan as his back-up, the rumours persist regarding the possibility of a new custodian in the winter transfer window.
