The feud between Jamie Carragher and Danny Simpson may finally be over, but not after it went a step too far.
Carragher had reignited their early year argument when he posted a photo of himself holding a snake with the caption: Finally get me hands on @dannysimpson.
The Leicester defender then replied: 'You piping up again you lol. Just get over it Jamie, you had your time and it didn't happen. Do you just need a cuddle'.
Simpson then posted a photo reminding the Liverpool icon of something he does not possess.

And that's when things got a little too personal for light-hearted ribbing. After Simpson mentioned Carragher's wife, the former Liverpool great then made reference to Simpson's court case for strangling his girlfriend in 2015.

They both deleted their tweets and both quickly apologised to each other for their actions.
