Liverpool hero John Barnes would welcome seeing Adama Traore move to Anfield.

The Reds continue to be linked with the 25-year-old, who is out of contract with Wolves in 2023.

Highly unlikely to be a regular starter in Jurgen Klopp's side ahead of the likes of Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, Barnes has doubts as to whether or not Traore would be happy to be predominantly deployed as a substitute.

"Adama Traore could be a good addition to the squad but he's not going to play ahead of Salah, Mane, Jota or Firmino," Barnes told BonusCodeBets.

"If he wants to come to Liverpool that would be great but he'll come knowing he's not going to play regularly. It would be a great acquisition for the squad. But I can't see him making that decision."
