Liverpool are NOT planning to sign Roma goalkeeper Alisson this summer.

The Reds are heavily linked with a new shot stopper, given the failures of Loris Karius in the UEFA Champions League final.

And Alisson is one of the keepers seen as an ideal choice for Jurgen Klopp's men.

But Sky Sports News understands that no formal offer will be made for Alisson.

Roma placed an £80 million valuation on Alisson and that figure is too high for Liverpool to contemplate paying for a goalkeeper.

It is unclear if the Reds will persevere with Karius or try to sign a goalkeeper with a lower asking price.
