Liverpool great Barnes: Fekir not needed because...

John Barnes believes Liverpool don't need to sign Nabil Fekir.

The World Cup winner has told Lyon he wants to leave the club this summer.

But Barnes thinks the 26-year-old attacking midfielder would find it hard to start in Jurgen Klopp's side.

“Yes, he'd be a good addition to the squad," Barnes told The Sport Review.

“But as I said, it's going to be difficult to get into the front three.

“If you look at the way Xherdan Shaqiri played, he could feature as one of the midfield three as well.

“It's always good to have quality to help the squad, but it's pure speculation until it happens."
