Liverpool fullback Andrew Robertson says Scotland's players are excited ahead of their Euros kickoff.
Robertson has warned Scotland will come out “all guns blazing" in an emotional backlash as they kick off their first tournament finals in 23 years.
The Anfield defender said: “This is why we play football! Me and Billy (Gilmour) have been lucky enough to be in a Champions League final. Other lads have played in Cup finals, huge games, and must wins at club level and national team level.
“It is that feeling in your stomach that something exciting is going to happen the next day. It is about trying to control that, staying calm today then tomorrow go out all guns blazing into the game.
"We want to do our country proud."
In their 198 matches since France '98, Scotland have been to hell and back. Up to 1990 they qualified for five consecutive World Cups.
They have had ten failed bids to qualify for a final tournament before they beat Serbia on penalties.
They dipped as low as 88 in the world rankings in 2005, an all-time low, hence the excitement now.
Robertson added: “There are kids, teenagers, lads in their 20s who have never seen us play at this level, so we hope to inspire them."
