Liverpool fullback Andrew Robertson says the fans will be crucial in their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

Robertson was one of several Liverpool stars – along with Jurgen Klopp and even some opposing players – to comment on the level of backing from home fans during the 3-0 win over Bournemouth last Saturday.

And the left-back believes supporters again have a part to play next week as the Reds look to take a significant step towards the quarter-finals.

“Everyone knows how special nights here are in the Champions League," said Robertson.

“We feed off each other. Players feed off the fans and the fans feed off the players because it's up to us to get them to have something to shout about.

“But it also helps when they're getting behind us and it can maybe give you that extra percentage or whatever in the game. That's what home fans are for.

“I think that's what all good teams do. We had a good run last season and especially in the Champions League I think it helped massively.

“Every club's got it and it's all about making the most of it."
