Liverpool fullback Trent Alexander-Arnold had a dig at Tottenham's players after Sunday's 2-1 win.
Toby Alderweireld scored a dramatic late own goal to hand the hosts the win after Lucas Moura had cancelled out Roberto Firming's opener.
"We knew what kind of game it was going to be, coming up against a top team like Tottenham," Alexander-Arnold said.
"Both teams wanted to win but I think we wanted it more than them."
Liverpool were indebted to star defender Virgil van Dijk for another fine performance at the back.
Alexander-Arnold hailed him as the world's best defender after the game and Van Dijk himself praised the character shown by his teammates.
“Virgil has shown again why he is the best defender in the world. You need fortune to win these types of games.," Alexander-Arnold added.
