Liverpool fullback Alexander-Arnold: I switched off TV before Man Utd players lifted Carabao Cup

Liverpool fullback Trent Alexander-Arnold admits he didn't enjoy seeing Manchester United win the Carabao Cup final last week.

Liverpool host United later in the Premier League.

Alexander-Arnold said, "I watched the match, but as soon as they had to lift the trophy, I turned off my TV. I thought: 'I just don't want to see that'.

"Knowing that they have lifted the trophy hurt. It definitely hurt."

He continued: "It shows how quickly football changes.

"Look at Arsenal. Last season everyone talked about them being a failure because they didn't make the Champions League. All of a sudden they lead the league. Things change rapidly.

"It's the same with Manchester United. They lost to Brentford at the start of the season and everyone said, 'Now it's happening to them again'. Now they fly."
