Liverpool football chief Michael Edwards accepts the club's relationship with agents is critical.
Since arriving in November 2016, Edwards has helped revamp Jurgen Klopp's squad by moving on deadwood for major profit.
Not only that but he has also helped Liverpool bring in a number of world-class players while tying down their most valuable assets to long-term contracts.
Now Reds icon Jamie Carragher has revealed that Edwards has told him the most integral concept behind his success.
“A few years ago, Liverpool's sporting director, Michael Edwards, told me there is no more important relationship in his role than that between the club and the players' agents," he wrote in his column for the Daily Telegraph.
“A fall-out can deprive you of one of your most valuable assets, or rule you out of the race for the next prime target.
“It is a sign of the changing times where many agents are guiding their clients when it should be the other way around."
