AC Milan went down to cross city rivals Inter Milan 1-0 at the weekend, despite an encouraging performance from Mario Balotelli.

The 25 year old, on-loan from Liverpool, went close on several occasions after coming on as a substitute, but could not find the back of the net.

Inter boss Roberto Mancini, who managed Balotelli while at Manchester City, said his former striker made life difficult for his defence.

"When Balotelli came on he caused us some problems," Mancini said, speaking after the match.

"If you let him take a shot, he will create danger.''
