Liverpool face a tighter transfer deadline than their title rivals next week.

The Mirror says Liverpool will have to register any new signings before midday on Thursday if they are to face Norwich in their Premier League opener.

The Reds open the new campaign at Anfield next Friday with a visit of the newly-promoted Canaries.

Clubs have until 5pm on Thursday to finalise any new deals but Liverpool are working to an even tighter deadline.

Premier League rules state Liverpool must register any deadline day signings by midday on Thursday.
