Liverpool face competition in their bid to sign Gael Clichy after AS Roma showed an interest in the Arsenal left-back.
The Gunners last week snubbed a bid of about £5million from Liverpool for Clichy, who only has a year left on his contract at the Emirates, says the Daily Express.
It is believed Arsenal want at least £8m and Wenger, left, would prefer to sell Clichy abroad, which has alerted Roma.
Inter Milan and Manchester City have also shown tentative interest in Clichy, 25, while Liverpool are expected to make a second offer.
