Liverpool face PSG competition for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly

Liverpool face competition from PSG should they firm up their interest in Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

L'Equipe says PSG will focus their attentions on Koulibaly this summer in their bid to find a replacement for Thiago Silva.

The Senegal international has been linked with several of Europe's top clubs, including Liverpool and Real Madrid, however the French outfit are believed to hold an upper hand.

Having already dealt with Napoli's owner Aurelio De Laurentiis for deals on Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi, director of football Leanardo knows what it takes to strike an agreement with the Serie A side.

The club are unwilling to lower their asking price of £89million, despite the effect the coronavirus outbreak is likely to have on the upcoming transfer window.
