Liverpool face competition for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz.

The Daily Mail says Liverpool have been tracking him this year.

Captain Havertz scored four and assisted another in Germany U19's 5-1 win over Belarus on Wednesday.

Liverpool sent a scout to the game, with Jurgen Klopp potentially contemplating a move for the Leverkusen youngster.

However, Manchester United and Arsenal were also represented at Wednesday's match.

Havertz has been compared to Mesut Ozil, although may be difficult to pursue with his contract running until 2022.
