Liverpool face being priced out of deal for Ajax striker Suarez

Liverpool have been forced to drop their pursuit of Ajax striker Luis Suarez.

The Daily Mail says director of football strategy Damian Comolli flew out to Amsterdam on Monday morning for discussions with Ajax.

The Dutch club, however, refused to buckle on their £25million asking price for the 24-year-old, £10m more than Liverpool had bargained for.

Suarez is keen to quit Amsterdam for Merseyside but Liverpool are reluctant to pay anything more than £18m for the star and are running out of time to complete the deal.
