Liverpool are interested in signing Matt Targett from Southampton.

The Reds are hoping to add another fullback to their squad for added defensive cover.

90Min says Liverpool have already contacted Southampton to ask about the availability of their left back.

Targett managed 21 appearances for the Saints last term.

The 23-year-old is also wanted by Aston Villa, who may be able to offer him greater first team opportunities.

Liverpool are looking at Targett as a replacement for Alberto Moreno, who is leaving the club this summer.
