Brendan Rodgers' side won just one game in their group leaving them classified as one of the four worst performing third place teams.
Uefa confirmed today that the 2005 European Cup winners will be ranked alongside Ajax, Anderlecht and Roma for the draw in Nyon.
It means the underperforming Reds could face a host of top sides including Inter Milan, Fiorentina and Zenit St Petersburg.
