Liverpool have made an enquiry about Cardiff City goalkeeper Neil Etheridge.
The Cardiff City number one is in demand, with Aston Villa also interested in his signature.
According to WalesOnline, Liverpool made a formal approach asking about his availability, but a bid has not yet been made.
The Reds would see him as a backup to Alisson Becker, who is firmly their number one goalkeeper.
Villa bid around £8 million for the player, but it was rejected by Cardiff.
If he went to Villa, he would be their first choice keeper in the Premier League, which may be more appealing to him than sitting on the bench at Anfield.
