Liverpool have encouraged Sevilla to make them an offer for Alberto Moreno.

Marca says the Reds have contacted his former club about offloading him.

Moreno, who joined from Sevilla for £12m in 2014, was a regular at first but has made just two appearances so far this campaign.

The defender, who has made 134 appearances for the Reds and scored three goals, will see his contract run out next summer.

Just last month, Barcelona were reportedly mulling over a move for Moreno as back-up to Spain's first-choice left-back, Jordi Alba.
