Liverpool edge closer to Premier League title with four-goal rout of Crystal Palace

Liverpool have edged closer to a first Premier League title in 30 years with an impressive 4-0 thumping of Crystal Palace at Anfield.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's superb free-kick midway through the first half set Jurgen Klopp's side up for the victory.

Mohamed Salah added a second just before the interval after connecting on a through ball from Fabinho, who scored Liverpool's third with a thunderbolt from long-range.

Sadio Mane then rounded out the scoring after 64 minutes to give Liverpool their 16 consecutive victory at home in the Premier League season.

Manchester City must beat Chelsea on Thursday to keep their mathematical chances alive, but the Reds are simply waiting to lift the trophy.

Speaking after the game, Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports: "The lads have done really well.

"It was a difficult game and we were disappointed to only get the draw at Everton, but for the first game back at Anfield, it couldn't have gone any better."
