Liverpool discussed terms with Arsenal ace Alexis, but...

Liverpool have held talks over personal terms with Arsenal attacker Alexis Sanchez, it has been revealed.

The Mirror says the Reds held talks over a move for Sanchez but have now ended their pursuit.

The Reds emerged as a potential destination for the Chile international over the weekend, with the Reds looking to spend some of the £142m from Coutinho's move to Barcelona.

However, the Reds have now pulled out of the race with Manchester City and Manchester United to sign Sanchez.

Liverpool are said to have only considered making a concrete bid for Sanchez if they heard he was ready to reject suitors Manchester United and Manchester City.

The Reds were also unwilling to meet his mammoth wage demands, with the 29-year-old reportedly offered £350,000-a-week at United.
