Liverpool's plans to sign Charlie Adam remain on hold with no formal bid for the Blackpool midfielder yet in the offing.
Blackpool owner Karl Oyston and Liverpool transfer chief Damien Comolli held preliminary discussions last week but talks have yet to progress, says the Daily Star.
Adam is desperate for a move to Anfield but he is being increasingly linked with a transfer to Aston Villa which could scupper his Reds' dream.
Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish is keen on Adam, who he worked with at Rangers.
