Liverpool defender Van Dijk: Quad push? I'm just enjoying it

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk says he's enjoying going for the Quadruple.

Van Dijk spoke today ahead of their Champions League quarterfinal first-leg against Benfica.

He said, "I think maybe the manager said it already but if you said it at the start of the season that we would still be in all competitions at this stage of the season, with a full squad, [we'd have taken it]. I'm just enjoying it.

"Before the international break, in January, I did care a little bit (his knee recovery) that it was going unnoticed. I felt a bit taken for granted, coming back from a long-term injury, that everything was sort of 'normal', that everyone expected the same.

"I said it in an interview that I felt taken for granted. But after the break I didn't and maybe that helped the performances. Everyone is playing their part."

On facing Sadio Mane and Senegal at the World Cup with the Netherlands, he added: "We joked that we were going to be in the same group and it happened. It's going to be so hard, they're obviously African champions, and we are as well. Opening game...I don't know who decided 11am KO, but it's going to be difficult."
