Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk is critical of Eredivisie clubs playing on artificial turf.
Holland coach Ronald Koeman has complained about local football's commitment to plastic pitches - and his captain Van Dijk agrees.
"I maybe should not say it, but I think it's really outrageous that the Eredivisie is still playing on synthetic turf," said the defender.
Van Dijk was speaking in the wake of Koeman's criticism.
He said, "I am watching games on television on artificial grass and then switch to duels with internationals across the border on real grass.
"A huge difference."
