Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk admits he's been impressed by Manchester City attacker Leroy Sane.

Van Dijk had a tough time against Sane and Germany in Holland's Euro qualifying defeat on the weekend.

He said: "We saw again on Sunday what a good player Leroy Sane is for Germany and Manchester City. He is one of the best players in the league in England. He shows that every time he is on the pitch, and it is always good to come up against him and test myself against the best players.

“Holland overall though are in a better place. There are a few reasons – a change of manager, change of some players, more younger players and change of tactics. I think it is paying off, even if not in the first half against Germany.

“And we are already looking forward to the Nations League semi-final against England, it should be a very exciting game. England has fantastic players all over the pitch and when that comes around it will be fantastic.

“Until then, it is a case of focusing on Liverpool."
