Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk says he feels much better for Sunday's hitout with Everton.

The Reds drew 0-0 with their local rivals at Goodison Park in what was a lacklustre Merseyside derby.

And van Dijk says he will be more prepared for Wednesday's clash with Norwich City.

"[I feel] A lot better," the Dutchman said.

"Obviously everyone didn't know really what to expect, the whole procedure before the game and how things will go.

"And it was just good to be back out there and I think it's a fantastic game to be playing, your first game after so long, and hopefully we can keep the good things for Wednesday and do well at home."
