Liverpool defender Alexander-Arnold: Ramos the enemy; but I respect him

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has put aside club rivalry to sing the praises of Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.

Ramos will never be forgiven by Liverpool fans for what was regarded as a cynical foul on Mo Salah in last season's Champions League Final.

That challenge forced the Egyptian magician out of the Kiev showdown and Real went on to win 3-1.

But Kop star Alexander-Arnold admits: “You have got to respect Ramos, even if he was the enemy in the Champions League Final.

“Everyone has their way of doing things but he has shown that he is a winner and has been for ten years. What he has done has worked for him and his team.

“To win three Champions Leagues in a row takes some doing. You don't do that with just average players.

“He has shown why he is probably the best, most consistent centre-back in the world."
